RECENT PERFORMANCES
Ingrisano returns as a professional chorister to the Emerald Ensemble which will present two great works by masters of English choral music. From the Renaissance comes William Byrd's Mass for five voices, a rarely performed gem. Herbert Howells's unaccompanied Requiem is a soothing staple of twentieth-century choral repertoire. The concert is rounded out by two works by local composers, Karen P. Thomas and the Emerald Ensemble's own Artistic Director, Gary D. Cannon.

Singing as a professional chorister, Ingrisano joins Epiphany’s world class choir and baroque orchestra with with four superb soloists for a mesmerizing evening featuring Bach’s magnificent Magnificat, Handel’s glorious Gloria, and Charpentier’s awe-inspiring Te Deum. This concert is a rare opportunity to hear masterworks by three of the Baroque era’s greatest composers, each work representative of their unique style. Soloists: Estelí Gomez, soprano; José Luis Muñoz, countertenor; James Reese, tenor; Zachary Lenox, Baritone.
An old Irish legend says that St. Patrick, traveling though territory controlled by a Druid chieftain, recited a prayer of protection as he walked. The chieftain’s army saw only a great stag leading a herd of red deer, and the saint’s men passed through safely. That prayer has come to be known as The Deer’s Cry, or St. Patrick’s Breastplate.

Get ready to immerse yourself in the enchanting melodies of Estonia right here in Seattle! The Mägi Ensemble is thrilled to present our Estonian Tour Concert, Kauge Maa: Ester Mägi 102, a celebration of rich musical traditions and captivating compositions. Join us as we pay homage to the remarkable legacy of Ester Mägi on what would have been her 102nd birthday. Our program will feature four pieces by Mägi herself, transporting you through her timeless creations. But that’s not all! We’ll also be showcasing selections by renowned composers such as Arvo Pärt, Katherine Pukinskis, and Laura Jēkabsone, as well as a special piece from founding Mägi Ensemble member and current board president, Ailisa Newhall.
Dietrich Buxtehude’s rarely performed Membra Jesu Nostri is a sacred choral masterpiece consisting of seven cantatas, each dedicated to a different part of Christ’s crucified body. Five soloists will join baroque instruments and chamber choir to present a unique opportunity to hear this deeply expressive and beautiful work.
Ingrisano returns as a professional chorister to the renowned Byrd Ensemble for this special celebratory concert set. These concerts will feature The Compline Choir, the Byrd Ensemble, acclaimed countertenor José Luis Muñoz, and a parley of instruments. 2024 marks the centenary of Peter R. Hallock’s birth. These concerts launch a celebration of Peter Hallock and his music. The program includes music spanning the Renaissance to the present day, along with a selection of Hallock’s own compositions, and a song cycle for countertenor.
Ingrisano sings the famous "Laudamus te" solo from Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart's Solemn Vespers with the St. James Cantorei soloists and chorus and the St. James Chamber Orchestra. The program also includes Mozart's Coronation Mass and Horn Concerto No. 4 in E-flat

We will present two works that put into music the Stabat Mater sequence, the first composed in 1736 by Giovanni Battista Pergolesi, and the second by Norwegian-American composer Tyler Futrell, who completed his Stabat Mater in 2022, specifically meant to be performed along with the Pergolesi. Both works are scored for soprano and alto soloists, string orchestra, and continuo.
The concert will be held in Tagney Jones Hall of Seattle Opera (363 Mercer Street, Seattle, 98109). Join us at 7:15pm for a pre-concert talk. Concert begins at 8pm. Admission includes the pre-concert talk, the performance, accompanied by fine wines and appetizers.

The Mägi Ensemble, in which Ingrisano is a resident soprano, is honored to have been invited to perform at the 2023 National American Choral Directors Association Conference in Cincinnati, Ohio. This conference showcases outstanding choral ensembles throughout the US and abroad, and we are thrilled to be included among many esteemed colleagues. During our time in Cincinnati, we are also planning on having performances in the community and participating in the conference sessions.
The Mägi Ensemble (pronounced "Maggy"), named after Estonian composer Ester Mägi, is a professional SA (soprano, alto) vocal ensemble that performs and records music from the Baltic region of Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania. This ensemble’s mission is to perform and record music from the Baltic region and to promote new choral works from that area, especially those by women-identifying composers. Alongside our mission, our vision is to use the power of music to connect with the community and continue to celebrate cultural heritage through the arts.
